    The Bridge opened 19 March 1932. As the tram is operating and there is a car in the distance (yes that was the density of traffic at most times after the bridge opened), I'd say the photograph date may be incorrect.

    I can confirm this happened in early April 1932. I'm just finishing the research on this now. Reports say seven elephants but the photos only show the six.

    I can confirm there are two lions in that photo. The lions were obtained from Melbourne zoo and integrated into the act.
