Location is west door of St. Patrick's Church of Ireland cathedral, Armagh.

The flag is the King's Colour of one of the local regiments, which was "laid up" in the cathedral after it was retired from service- it's probably still hanging in there somewhere. If the G is George III, this could well have been carried at Waterloo- no wonder it's a bit battered!

Of interest to me, is that 17 years after federation, the important and the only flag is the Union Jack (probably better symbolising what all those men died for) and not the Australian Flag. (Or was it simply a question of availability).
