  Hilarious. Making the red cross of St George black makes the studio prop Union Flag look more like the German battle Flag without the eagle than the British. The sense of heightened unreality is accented by placing the red (or rather black) cross of St Patrick in the wrong position. The general effect is unsettling because their is a gap of a second between looking at the picture and realising what is wrong with it. A marvellously surreal image that invites us to enter into an alternative history of Britain.

  That is because it they must have either rescanned the postcard or photo-shopped it.

  The APC may also been hosted onto a Rolls Royce chasis.... the double back tyres are "interesting"...the back wheels appear to have a smaller diameter to those at the front (?) or is this perspective?

  Of interest to me, is that 17 years after federation, the important and the only flag is the Union Jack (probably better symbolising what all those men died for) and not the Australian Flag. (Or was it simply a question of availability).
