This is Gerald Demore's general store in Flinton, Ontario. It burned to the ground in the early 1970s. The lot is now the site of Through The Roof Ministries at 3662 Flinton Road. A small part of Flinton Continuation School is visible in the background.

Halley Stone's Home - Flinton c1961

CORRECTIONS: Shown in this photo are Wilfred Lessard with his sister Ellen (Lessard) Woodcox. This building was never owned by Joshua Stone. It was never a casket factory. It was not built in the late 1800s. It is the last home of my maternal great-grandparents, James "Halley" Stone and Edith May (Sedgewick) Stone. They had it built in 1925 as their retirement home. This house encompasses part of a pre-existing house which was built in the late 1900s. Halley Stone was one of Joshua Stone's two sons. Halley was a general store owner, cattle drover, and an undertaker. The house was constructed across the road from my great-grandparents' General Store. It was inherited by my mother Lorraine (Lessard) Bleecker and my aunt, E. Maxine (Lessard) Tettman, from their grandparents, Halley and Edith Stone. It was the last residence of their son-in-law (my grandfather) Wilfred L. Lessard. Respectfully submitted by Jackie Bleecker
