Al Jennings (1863-1961) was a Virginia-born Oklahoma lawyer who was also a train robber and a silent-film star. He was sentenced to life in prison for robbery in 1899, but only served five years of the sentence. In 1914 he was running for governor of Oklahoma (unsuccessfully). He died in Tarzana CA, age 98. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al_Jennings See his mugshot here: www.texashillcountry.com/Stories/AlJennings.htm

Photographed (above) in his room at New York City's Hotel Wolcott, probably on January 6, 1914, Al J. Jennings announced to the press his intention to run for Governor of Oklahoma upon his return to that state in the coming week. A New York Times story (January 7, 1914), revealed colorful details of Mr. Jennings' past: query.nytimes.com/mem/archive-free/pdf?res=9B01E6DF1E39E6...
