Sudden Shower

This is Ôhashi atake no yûdachi (大橋あたけの夕立). Different museums translate the title differently, but it's Ôhashi Bridge, not Shin-Ohashi, and Atake, not Ataker. Nothing ends in "r" in Japanese. This print is one of a series of 100 Famous Places in Edo (名所江戸百景, Meisho Edo hyakkei) done by Hiroshige. The series title can be seen in the red cartouche at the top right, with the title of this print in the yellow cartouche next to it, and the artist's signature at bottom left.

Katary Falls from Below

I believe this is currently spelled Katteri Falls. Googling that name has brought me to some more modern photos of these falls.

Bah. English transliterations are no fun. More spelling variants are popping up. Katterie Water Falls is another name/spelling.

There appear to be significant differences in the English spelling of place names in India during the 19th century, as compared to modern spellings. In most cases, we have used the 19th century spellings.
