This is June 1932. Saratoga had a ship's emblem painted on the inboard stripe of her stack that year. The black vertical stripe was painted on after 1929 fleet exercises. The other ships shown include USS Claxton (DD-140) on the opposite side of the center pier from Lex, plus Jason (AC-12) decommissioning at upper left, and Kearsarge (AB-1, formerly BB-5) at lower left.
Departure of JASON: Mrs. Chas. Saltzman, Mrs. Lawton, Major Lawton, C.O. Laughlin, Mrs. L. Wood, Mrs. W. Draper, G. McAneny, G.R. Adamson, Lt. Com. C.E. Courtney (LOC)

US Navy ship, from Wiki: Jason was once again involved in a humanitarian gesture as she sailed from New York 14 November, bearing Christmas gifts for the Mediterranean fleet and the people of Europe.
