The Island must mean Little Island

I see other Pooles titled The Island for Mr. Fitzgerald, which would be Little Island.

Undigitized, but there is a Cabinet commissioned by Miss De Lacy, The Island, Waterford

Dated 1912, which suggests she was old enough to order pics herself, older than the Yoletown Mary.

Looking at the Peerage, this would be Gerald Purcell-Fitzgerald, and his third wife, Mabel Marie Gossip, and his 4 eldest children - John, Gerald, Edward Maurice and Mary Augusta de Lisle Cecilia Purcell-FitzGerald. Gerald Jr. went to a school for the blind, hence my presumption that he is the kid with the cane.

RichardBH Lovely, isn't it? Thanks for finding those two. Stayed there twice - both times in the depths of winter, and the fireplace is so huge you can stand up in it... (when there isn't a big roaring fire on!)

I was there recently and it hasn't changed much. I have some shots of it but on my other computer. I must see if I have one to compare?
