Some of my ancestors came from Prussia in the mid 1800s, and were a family of tailors. I've heard from cousins that there is a photo of a large pair of shears, like this one, somewhere, taken in their shop near Dayton Ohio... I also have a thing for antique irons, though I rarely do any ironing myself. This is a lovely portrait.

Super NLI and so appropriate for the day that's in it! Isn't it a cracker of a photograph with all the detail of the conditions at the time so we can compare with today (it wasn't raining cats and dogs for a start) Ladies with real fur's, men waving hats including at least one bowler, soldiers with drawn swords and fixed bayonets, the blue hussars on horseback and a Dublin Metropolitan Policeman with a bobby's style helmet. I love it and well done!

    Z 1 to Z 9999 (Mar 1927 – Sep 1938); YI 1 to YI 9999 (Apr 1921 – Mar 1927); So well after Mar 1927 given Z 4229

1931 has a Monday 13th July as has 1936 and 1942 next one is 1953 so one of the previous 3 I think. Also 1931 is too early for the Z 4229 reg so take your pick between 1936 and 1942 I pick 1936 as if it was 1942 there would be less cars and some signs of the "Emergency"
