Judging by the women's clothing, this looks like it might date from just after the First World War/early 20s. The women's skirts would have been longer pre-war and their waistbands haven't yet descended to the hips. Also it looks like the young man standing in Pugh's doorway is on crutches - although its hard to see even at the biggest size - if so, that would fit with the date estimate too. I wish I could see this even bigger! I'm researching young working class women's wear in the interwar period and this shop is terrific - I need to see those price tags!

Ivor Pugh OBE was my 'great uncle'. Lost a leg and eye in WW1 from apparently throwing himself on a live grenade in an ammunition store. Even so, led a very active life, and died aged about 95 c1980. Owned the 'Chocolate Box' with his wife Maud (my maternal grandmother's sister) until ?early 1970s. The person on crutches is almost certainly him.
