Museums of History NSW - State Archives Collection Never too easy - just that I have been there before with the Henry King photo. I remember three years ago having huge problems trying to find what the occasion was (when Trove was young).

Impressive buildings, first sight of this and I thought it was an American city.

Great pix, shows when Martin Place was still a vehicle thoroughfare.

The frocks and cars seem to be a bit earlier than 1960s. I think early 1950s. See note about the Morris Minor (2 door) (1948 onwards) - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morris_Minor

beachcomber australia Looking at the pix again, I agree with you on the date. The cars are not 1960,s. The wire for the tramline in Elizabeth St is very hard to see

There is no Morris Minor in that photo.
I would estimate 1948 or 1949.

I think the Mosman - Spit Tramway opened in 1900 - earliest date for this photo. See comments etc -
