According to STANFORD CREW HISTORY 1893-1956, by G. Wayne Dow [ www.gdow.net/pdffiles/crewhist.pdf ], Seward was Varsity captain of Stanford Crew in 1912. Also, page 453 of Cornell Alumni News [ ecommons.library.cornell.edu/bitstream/1813/3529/3/014_38... ] indicates that Cornell lent Stanford and Capt. Seward its coaching launch in 1912. A Cornell launch is certainly in the other picture, www.flickr.com/photos/library_of_congress/2890283224/in/p... .

Aimee Christine Rochester (1911-1959), daughter of Mr. Richmond Rochester Jr. and his wife, Aimee L. Gunning Rochester. Aimee Gunning's grandfather was Leland Stanford. Little Aimee became Aimee C. Muniz, and later Aimee McGregor. Little Miss Aimee Rochester was the only bridal attendant at the wedding of Miss Louise Gardner, daughter of Mrs. C. F. Gardner, and Frederick Rodgers, son of the late Rear Admiral Frederick Rodgers, U.S.N., on December 29, 1917. There were no ushers and no reception. The wedding was a quiet one due to mourning. –The New York Times

She was born in Oakland CA and was a public schoolteacher there before she went to Stanford. She earned her PhD there in 1908, and became a Professor of Zoology there. In 1929 she was named a Fellow of the California Academy of Sciences. She was by no means wealthy, but she was known for helping struggling students with their tuition, and for supporting the Children's Museum in Palo Alto.
