    The house nearest the sea is called Billow Ville, and dates from 1820, according to the NIAH. It is on the 1840 6" map at GeoHive. Still there today in Streetview.

    I got married here last year, that same road still exists and if my geography serves me well the large building to the left of the picture in the distance is the original of the hotel we had our reception in, the only part of which remains is a ruin near the new hotel which was built by the Burke family who ran the original. And, as a matter of interest, in the days before our wedding there was a party for a member of that family who was 100 years old, so there's a good chance she was alive when this was taken!

    Indeed it is known as the Retreat. It and its gateposts are meant to be preserved structures but the house has been substantially demolished; this is not a case of mere disrepair.
