This article notes that she is petitioning for divorce for the second time. After the first divorce, they were re-married. This 1927 piece mentions the two children -- Hoke Smith Simpson, 12 and Maude Raymor Simpson, 9. These ages don't match the dates of birth pennylrichardsca found, but one of those she found is before the engagement -- which seems unlikely. If the ages in the article are correct, a 1916 photo (1916 is on the date sticker on the negative) is most likely Hoke Smith Simpson.

    swanq Agreed--the dates I found are clearly wrong. I'll remove them. (One of my other projects right now involves a woman who constantly made up her age, no consistency in it at all, it gets frustrating to work out what's what!)
