Great White Fleet in Sydney 1908

This is not the Great White Fleet (the United States Navy's round-the-world tour) but the Royal Navy on the Australian Station, 1905-1911, (before the Royal Australian Navy arrived in Sydney in 1913). See the State Library of New South Wales copy of this photograph at: acms.sl.nsw.gov.au/item/itemDetailPaged.aspx?itemID=413153

After further research we have amended the caption as follows: 'Spectators viewing the US Navy's Great White Fleet in Sydney Harbour - HMS 'Powerful", Royal Navy Australian Station in foreground". Thank you for your observations

Opsbook , Looking at the trackplan at the time ( at the exhibition in Bankstown Library) this was the end of the line with only a short section of track behind the photographer for running round trains. D.
