The old Villa Olimpica (Olympic Village), built in the early 1970's to be used as athlete housing in the 1979 Pan American games. Got later turned into subsidized housing, but the complex was so badly run that most residents abandoned their apartments by the mid eighties. Whole place got imploded in the mid 90's.

Typo on the part of the photographer, or was there actually a time it was called Porto Rico rather than Puerto Rico?

That's the old Olympic Village (Villa Olimpica) in San Juan. Built for the 1979 Pan American Games, they got imploded around 1996 in what was then the largest implosion ever. I think you can find it on YouTube. The buildings were used as subsidized housing after the games. They had been poorly built to begin with, and then were badly managed. By the early eighties they were in terrible shape and many of the original residents had abandoned their apartments.
