My best guess would be Vizcaya on Biscane Bay in Miami, Fl which was built in the 1910's. The original site composed of 180 acres contained many gardens, arches and water views. There wasn't much built in Florida at this early date of 1930.

According to the Omaha Public Library's site: "The grand buildings of the Exposition no longer exist because of the poor quality of the construction materials. Most of the structures were built using green wood and plaster in order to keep the cost of these immense buildings down." www.omahapubliclibrary.org/transmiss/about/about.html Too bad! There's some gorgeous stuff in there.
