Representatives of the UQ Senate, staff and students gathered at short notice in March 1954 to catch a glimpse of Prince Philip, as the Duke of Edinburgh made a whirlwind tour of the St Lucia campus. The informal UQ visit was a late addition to the 1954 royal tour of Australia, during which Prince Philip joined Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, on her first tour of Australia as British monarch. Prince Philip arrived at UQ shortly after 6 pm on 17 March and spent about one-and-a-half hours at the University, where he was received by Queensland Deputy Premier John Duggan, Chancellor Dr. Otto Hirschfeld, and Vice-Chancellor John Story AO. The Duke was then escorted to the John Darnell Art Gallery, where he was presented with a souvenir of bound photographs of UQ buildings, before moving to the library, where he met and greeted about 50 student union representatives. Another possibility would be Prince Tokugawa Keikyu, see photograph in the East Oregonian, September 11, 1918, DAILY EVENING EDITION, Image 4 oregonnews.uoregon.edu/lccn/sn88086023/1918-09-11/ed-1/se.... It could be this man IMO. Or it could be Tokugawa Yoshihisa (1884–1922) (according to en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tokugawa_Yoshinobu-ke), apparently a brother of Keikyu (or the same man?), see photograph in the Rogue River courier, December 03, 1918, DAILY EDITION, Image 1 oregonnews.uoregon.edu/lccn/sn96088180/1918-12-03/ed-1/se.... Both are described as representatives of the Red Cross in Japan. According to www.historyofjapanguide.com/mysterious-japan-017.htm, Prince Keikyu Tokugawa was a son of Yoshinobu (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tokugawa_Yoshinobu).

Keikyu and Yoshihisa appear to be the same, since Kikuko, who married Prince Takamatsu (a brother of Emperor Hirohito), is denominated as daughter of Keikyu in www.mocavo.com/The-Japan-Christian-Year-Book-1931/590833/23 and as daughter of Yoshihisa in en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kikuko,_Princess_Takamatsu.
