Platt Adams (1885-1961) was an athlete from the New York Athletic Club. [1] He was the USA Track & Field Champion in the standing long jump four times from 1908-1916. [2] He competed for the United States in the Olympic Games in 1908 and 1912. At the 1912 Summer Olympic Games in Stockholm, he won the Gold Medal for the high jump at 5'4 1/4", and the Silver Medal for the long jump at 11' 1/2". [3] In 1910, Platt Adams was featured on a Hassan Cigarettes Champions Card. There are other LOC photos of Platt Adams on Flickr using this tag.
