Plan for Dalgety school

I much enjoyed looking at the gallery, and learning how to do a local history study. And I had a snoop around Dalgety using Google Maps and Street View. There is an eastern elevation view of the school in Cooma Street, which has quite a slope. I wonder if they reversed the plans to fit the site? maps.google.com.au/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&...

beachcomber australia You could be right; we weren't sure if the photo in the gallery was reversed or if, as you say, the plans were reversed to fit the site. AB

It is somewhat bizarre that this plan is labelled "Darling Harbour resumption plan", seeing as how it is the area occupied by the south end tollgates of the Harbour Bridge which isn't obviously directly involved with Darling Harbour, it is on the east side of Kent Street on the top of the hill.

The maps of the Darling Harbour and Port Jackson resumptions that were created in response to the Darling Harbour Wharves Resumption Act 1900 (Act No.10, 1900). As you can see the maps were titled at the time they were created. According to our records at the time the maps would have been the responsibility of the Roads and Bridges Branch [I] 1858- 1900 Roads Bridges and Public Watering Places Branch (1901- 1903). The current controlling Agency of the maps is Land and Property Management Authority. For a full description of the history of the maps please see Archives Investigator investigator.records.nsw.gov.au/Entity.aspx?Path=\Series\19348.
