It's the very person who inspired me with my photography :) Although I kinda messed on with photography in my teens, it wasn't until I was in my mid-20s that I discovered Jimmys work and what he had singlehandedly achieved against all those odds. It taught me that it doesn't matter what age, sex or social standing you are that you can do so much. Once I'd finally mastered the basics (I wouldn't listen to anyone when a teenager!) I literally took off with my hobby. I've far more to show than what I dump onto Flickr now and then. One day it will be shown.. Jimmy was well known and well loved by so many in the North East. There were others too but this man opened my world.

Muttaburra is in the central west of Queensland. It is located on the banks of the Thomson River. It is approximately 120km north of the town of Longreach. The main industry in the area is grazing. Muttaburra lay on the traditional tribal lands of the Iningai. Their region includes the landscape between the local government boundaries of Longreach and Barcaldine. Muttaburra is supposed to mean 'the meeting of the waters' or 'meeting place'. (source Wikipedia)

Muriel Alice Lavarack married Frank Jones in 1912 and lived at 'Dalgonally'. They moved to Warwick and Frank died in 1930. With a young family of 7 'Alice' returned to her profession and had a practice in Cracow. She died in Brisbane in 1955. (Source: Dr. Arratta Museum).

rjones0856: Thanks for the information about William Caspar, who was the special representative of Queen Eleanora of Bulgaria for her US visit in 1914. It seems likely that this is him, as according to the NY Times article you referenced, he was in NYC in April 1914 to prepare for her trip and the date on the photo is 4/14/14. However, without a confirming photo, we will add that is is "possibly" him, until we get more information.
