Cecil Peoli, early aviator, died in a crash in Maryland, 1915--see Early Aviators. Seems likely he is shown here with the Baldwin Red Devil airplane--the diagram looks close, if not identical, to the photo above.

Cecil Peoli flew in Venezuela in April 1914. I believe the spelling in the photo's caption is "Capt. Von Krosigk".

Wonder if he's any relation to this man? The wiki makes mention of the Iron Cross award en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lutz_Schwerin_von_Krosigk

There was also a Capt. von Krosigk who was a Prussian army officer who was murdered in 1901. Two sergeants were accused of killing him. The New York Times referred to it as "a German Dreyfus case" query.nytimes.com/gst/abstract.html?res=9E04E3D9143FE433A... I can't find a photo though so not sure if its the right guy.

There was a German naval officer named Capt. Krosigk also, who visited New York commanding the Stettin in 1912.
