I don't think that the photos are of the Newport Casino show. The Newport Casino is very small and less than an acre. It now has tennis courts. This is the Piping Rock Club in Locust Valley, New York. I added the club to Wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piping_Rock_Club

Former President Theodore Roosevelt was being treated in the hospital in Chicago after being shot in Milwaukee by John Schrank (of New York City) in a botched assassination attempt, October 1912. (Roosevelt, who had been in Milwaukee to deliver a campaign sppech, was a candidate for the Presidency that year, on the Progressive Party ticket.) Jane Addams of Chicago, a friend of TR's and an organizer of the Progressive Party, visited the convalescing ex-President in the hospital.
