    This building was not a 'bourse' but a weighing house (it is still called 'De Waag"), where goods were weighed for tax purposes. For weighing house see en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weigh_house -which has a picture of this same building.

    The canal is Kloveniersburgwal, I think (compare www.flickr.com/photos/library_of_congress/4120057770/in/s... taken from the other side - Geldersekade)

    The Waag (weighing house) on the Nieuwmarkt in Amsterdam. In WWII it was the collecting point for the deportation of Jews. It is in the Jewish Quarter. Take a look here for how the square looked during the war.

    On this square there is a memorial to four children who were shot here during WWII, one little girl was almost 5 years old.
