    "An employee in the agricultural division of Du Pont, Hammond had suggested that the company offer shooting classes especially for women as part of its gun club. The classes went so well that a trapshooting club for women was established. An adjunct of the Du Pont Trapshooting Club, the women's group was allowed to use the traps one afternoon a week, since 'it was not feasible to give up one of [the main club's] traps to women on regular shooting days.'"

    When I saw Nemours I thought this must have something to do with DuPont and Delaware. According to this old book on trapshooting the Nemours Gun Club was the first women's trapshooting club in the United States, founded in Wilmington, Delaware in 1913.
