I don't think that's Moore Lane. That's a load of building fronts and a big swanky footpath. Moore Lane is a mews.

derangedlemur If that is the truth, and I don't doubt it, wouldn't the 1910 Parnell Monument be in the background? Streetview - goo.gl/maps/WhqL2adij512

beachcomber australia I'm not sure if it's looking along Parnell Street or along Moore Street. It's also massively over-exposed where the monument would be, so it could well be there.

With the motor vehicles and the Foden steam lorry, and the building of the CBA building (opened in 1916), this must be later than most of the Kerry collection, c.1915.

Moore Street! Moore street originally existed as little more than a laneway (like Bond Street) between Pitt and Castlereagh Streets and is still such a laneway on 1896 map; 1903 map shows it widened to match section between George and Pitt. This picture taken from Castlereagh Street before the final extension, completed in 1935; CBA building commenced 1913; completed 1916, so the photos is definitely c.1915, not 1900. Moore Street was renamed Martin Place in 1921.
