    Gives a feeling of an innocent time where the truck was essentially the internet of the day - moving information from location to location along the back road "super highways" of the time.

    I remember the bookmobile coming to Blackalls Park where I lived as a child. It was wonderful to have a library on wheels coming on a regular basis. I was an avid reader so was glad for the service.

The first coal train from the West Wallsend colliery passed through Newcastle to Bullock Island yesterday. The occasion was marked by a general display of bunting.

The colliery is about 15 miles from Newcastle, the company's property comprising 3000 acres of freehold land, with coal seams on all four sides.
