    Indeed, it is very nostalgic. I was just 4 when this photo was captured. I hope the young man in this picture is still alive and would definitely be pleased to see this. I think today he is about 70 years old.

    I don't have a garden to produce vegetables for canning, but I do can chicken stock or beef stock. Home canning is not as widespread as it used to be, but it's still common enough that my local large drugstore carries canning supplies.

    My mom and dad used to stay up very late at night canning food from our garden. This was after a full days work. They used an old pressure cooker to seal the jars. The results were delicious.
