  yep, same entrance here. lovely old building, I would imagine it wouldn't look out of place in new orleans. Gramercy Park is lovely, my no 1 place to live when i win the lottery!!

The Scone Hotel with river and steam train

  There seems to be an error here. This is not the Scone Hotel, it is the Como Hotel. At the persistent URL we can zoom in to see that the sign on top of the hotel reads, "COMO HOTEL" That means we can track it down to the Como Hotel @ 35 Cremona Road, Como, New South Wales although I suspect the present day hotel has been rebuilt after fire. It's highly visible at this map link: maps.google.com.au/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=... and at this Flickr example: www.flickr.com/photos/sgmdigital/2495301407/ The steam train pictured appears to be steaming into modern day Como Railway station here: maps.google.com.au/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=... and there's this old image at the National Library of Australia: nla.gov.au/nla.pic-vn3297758

The building, specially constructed for collegiate purposes, is in the center of a large area of ground, picturesquely laid out and sheltered with trees and foliage.   THE SISTERS OF MERCY CONVENT ON BOURBONG STREET On July 10, 1897, five Sisters of Mercy came to take up teaching duties. They were to remain until lack of numbers forced their withdrawal from schools in the 1980s. The Presentation Sisters also operated a school for a few years in Bundaberg in the 1960s.
