One for Francesca at the Art Gallery of New South Wales

Many thanks for putting this one up, interesting to note the changing plant life over the years if you compare with this pic taken around 1948.
The tree has gone and the now familiar palm trees are taking root.

The first of the bronze bas-reliefs added to the Art Gallery facade was 'Phryne before Praxiteles', by Percival Ball...which was unveiled on 27th March, 1903. I think we see it here...4th niche from the right (it's almost entirely obscured by the tree). So I'd say this pic was taken some time on/after 27th March, 1903...but before the construction of the Northern wing...which was built in the period ca. March 1908 - July 1909...

The second bas-relief added to the Art Gallery facade was 'Assur Natsir Pal, King of Assyria', by Gilbert Bayes...it was unveiled on 18th February, 1907...the third was 'Queen Hatasu of Egypt', by Countess Feodora Gleichen...it was placed in position in ca. March, 1908. Both these reliefs occupy niches to the left of 'Phryne before Praxiteles', so if they were present at the time this SLNSW pic was taken, they would have been obscured by the tree. The fourth Bas-relief added was 'Augustus at Nimes' by William Reid Dick...it was unveiled 20+ years later, on 10th December, 1931...it occupies the niche to the right of 'Phryne before Praxiteles'...

There is a ruinous remnant at the NIAH: It is now roofless and overgrown, set within the grounds of a golf course. Dates from 1850.

The Baron in 1850 would have been Cadwallader Davis Blayney, 12th Lord Blayney, the last Baron of Monaghan.

The Temple is visible in from the Baron's house, Hope/Blayney Castle, as we see in L_ROY_08514, which I think is taken from the grounds. Streetview does not get in there, but here is a nearby photosphere, taken from a bit lower down and the trees have grown up.

L_CAB_08907 next door in the catalogue is also Castleblayney, the 1879 Almshouses.

Judging from www.omahapubliclibrary.org/earlyomaha/buildings/courthous... this is the second courthouse in Omaha for Douglas County, Nebraska. Completed in 1885 and superseded in 1912.

Thank you Wystan and artolog for your comments on the dates of these images, which encouraged us to look at them more closely. The above image and the two noted in Wystan's comment are from the same Barnard Ivy day celebration which took place in June 1911. Take a look at the ivy plant under the columns and the woman in the white headband on the left who appears in the back of the crowd in all three images. The above image appears to show the class of 1913 holding a banner, standing across from the graduating class of 1911, who are in caps and gowns.
