Wonderful shot, I am a native New Mexican and this is great to see. I can relate to how still one had to stand to get a shot back then, while looking into our bright sunshine with no shades.

After her work on the farm was done, she then had to do her chores in the house and get the children ready for bed.Quilts like these were usually made in the few remaining hours before bedtime and on a sunday(day of rest?). So this probably took a couple of years to complete.(speaking as a quiltmaker who also has to fit sewing into a busy day).If she had a machine, it may have taken less, but it's quite an accomplishment -and she's obviously very proud of it.
