Appears to have all its wartime modifications, the larger bridge structure the most obvious. On its post war first visit to New Zealand I'd say.

Trainiac I think you are right, HMS NEW ZEALAND spent some time in Sydney in mid-1919 during a world tour, and that is probably the time that this image was taken.

My granddad served on HMS New Zealand, and I has his photo album with some photos that he took during his visit to Sydney in 1919 and photos of Admiral Jerricoe with Lord and lady Liverpool

The picture shown is the the HMS New Zealand (1905-1911) which was a pre-dreadnought battleship of the King Edward VII class (4-12",4-9.2",10-6",16,350 tons, 18-19 knots). She was re-named HMS Zealandia on Dec 1, 1911; releasing the "HMS New Zealand" name for a new battlecruiser that was completed in January 1912 (not pictured). The HMS Zealandia and her 7 sisters made up the 3rd Battle Squadron with the home fleet at the beginning of WWI, but because of their slower speed were soon relegated to serving in other theaters of the war where faster German dreadnoughts were not potential advesaries.
