Francis Lemoine Loring was a grain broker; William-Anna Holland Loring was his third wife; after Mr. Loring died, the family was in the news, fighting over the $6million estate. Their daughter Marie Lemoine Loring (1880-1954) married George Rheims (1879-1963); you can see their passport photos here: homersworld.blogspot.com/ Their son Joseph Holland Loring (1882-1912) was a first-class passenger on the Titanic, traveling with George Rheims; Rheims survived, Loring did not. www.encyclopedia-titanica.org/titanic-victim/joseph-holla...

@pennyrichardsca: Thanks for the additional family info! I was hoping you'd enjoy diving into these Southern California photos. -- Helena

I am enjoying, very much! Nice to have some California photos for a change. :) Too bad so many of these scenes are on private grounds (and indeed, so many no longer exist), or I'd have a grand time some weekend running around Pasadena with my kids, taking then-and-nows.
