    According to this: tinyurl.com/kkk9qm Col. Wingate was commander of the 2nd Field Artillery Regiment of the NY National Guard in 1913.     A Colonel George A. Wingate is listed as the commanding officer of the 2nd Field Artillery, Division HQ, N.Y. National Guard located at 171 Clermont Avenue in Brooklyn according to the 1915 edition of the Brooklyn Daily Eagle Almanac (on Google Books).

    I don't think this is an artillery unit, Notice the aide on the col's left, he's carrying a colt .38 model 1909 with butt foreward, spurs and boots scream calvary. Of course I may be worng artillery was moved by horse at that time ( poss. 1912- 1916). When do you think the pic was taken?

    This is a photo of young aviatrix Miss Betty Huyler in the summer of 1929. She appears throughout this collection for good reason, as she would marry Bud Gillies. Like her husband (a close associate of Grover Loening and - like many Loening employees - he would go to work with another former Loening employee, Leroy Grumman. Ultimately becoming a vice president at Grumman) Mrs. Betty Gillies (as she is better known) would also become an aviator of distinction. See: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Betty_Gillies
