    Well, the first six teams I played for all issued wool uniforms....The major leagues wore wool uniforms until the late fifties. Wool wasn't too bad as long as you wore a long sleeve or 3/4 sleeve cotton shirt under and wore sliding pads and boxers underneath. We all made it some way.
