This particular Gulfdawn was a T2-SE-A1 tanker constructed by Sun Shipbuilding in 1943. T2 tankers were the tanker equivalent of Victory Ships. Originally launched as San Antonio, operated by Gulf Oil Co. during the war, and then renamed Gulfdawn in 1947. It was sold to a Monrovia-registered operator in 1958 and eventually scrapped in 1966.

Mary Pickford Christening Transcontinental Air Transport's Ford Trimotor (5-AT-B) "City of Los Angeles" (NC9646; c/n 5-AT-9) at Glendale Airport for T-A-T's coast to coast service on July 8, 1929. As captured in this series of photos in the SDASM's Luqueer collection, Charles Lindbergh piloted the flight, which also included his wife Anne Morrow Lindbergh as a passenger.
