    Date is 4/10/1913. According to www.baseball-almanac.com/prz_cww.shtml this "opening day" game was the first of six baseball games he attended that season, the only one wher he threw out the first pitch. The Senators beat the Yankees 2-1.

ETA: I belatedly note that this was actually mentioned on the NLI photo page: "front facing portrait of Sir John Purser Griffith (1848-1938), Irish civil engineer and member of Seanad Éirean".
