"Mrs. Wilson Explains That the Wedding Cake Is of Ordinary Size and Not Elaborate. "Numerous requests for a piece of Miss Jessie Wilson's wedding cake caused this statement to be issued from the White House to-day:

"On account of the erroneous and extravagant statements as to the size and cost of the cake which has been baked for the wedding of Miss Jessie Wilson, Mrs. Wilson wishes it stated that the cake is 9 inches high and 22 inches in diameter. It is the usual kind of bride's cake, and is not at all elaborate." – New York Times, November 23, 1913
