    Foynes, Askayton, Tarbert and Glin! the four manest towns that I ever was in!!! A friend from Clare was fond of reciting that line to my friend from Askeaton and myself. It was not my experience though, I always loved the three Limerick towns in any event. The Shannon is majestic down around there and the scenery is worth the trip!

    A Streetview of those buildings from a point at the right middle of shot, behind the seawall, at the top of those steps. The OS 25" names this as St. Patrick's Sawmill. Not sure how St. Patrick feels about that!

    As you can see from Niall's comments above, this one had been in our Munsterset for quite some time (neglected by everyone but him). It just happens to be the Then of the Lawrence Photographic Project Now photograph - Now being 1990, but we won't fall out over 23 years... :)

    Might be some bit of marshalling kit, what with the looped chain in the middle and the row of wheel ratchets on the rail.

    It doesn't line up with the map very well. Maybe if it was flipped, though it's still not great even then. There may be some map between the Cassini and the modern that we need.
