    This is a photo of HMS Hibernia and a Short Improved S.27 biplane, likely taken in May 1912, when Hibernia was engaged in various test flights conducted by Commander Charles Samson (RN) flying the aircraft from a makeshift flight deck placed upon the forward portion of the ship.
