    Sure would love to know the story of this picture. I live in Galveston OK did some research and found this site. galveston.ssp.nmfs.gov/aboutus/fortcrockett/index.html Apparently this is WWII. Some good pictures at that site. The building at the top of that page still is there. As are many of the Ft Crockett buildings. They have been empty for years and deteriorating. They were damaged more by Hurricane Ike, Sept 13, 2008.

    I dunno. Judging from the campaign hat and puttees on the soldier passing the middle tent, I'd guess earlier in the century. There was a lot of mobilization in response to the Mexican revolution after 1910, and this might be related to that. Great link about Fort Crockett.

    After looking at the link again I think it may be closer to 1910-20. In the link above it talks of the WWII POW camp. A friend was a kid at that time and says he used to go there and throw rocks at the German prisoners. At that time that area was out in the country. Moody United Methodist Church sits on much of the site of the POW camp now. It was built in the 60's. moody.org/ www.flickr.com/photos/nsaum/55889815/
