Aside from the dubious subject matter (leg irons) I'm struck by the crispness, sharpness of the photo. It's perfectly focused and exposure setting is great, with nice black-and-white contrast.

If you look again, it seems that it is just the back of the bench that might appear to be lodged in the cannon.
