The baby is Gloria Caruso, born Dec. 18, 1919. Behind Caruso is his wife, the former Dorothy Park Benjamin. Sitting beside his father is presumably one of the sons from an earlier relationaship with singer Ada Giachetti: Rodolfo " Fofo" Marcellino Giuseppe Caruso, born in 1898 or Enrico Caruso, Jr. born in 1904.

See E. Caruso Jr., Caruso & wife, G. Setti (LOC)
For Rodolfo (no later than 1917), see Rodolfo Caruso (LOC)

Some other copies of this photograph online have captions indicating that the son here is Rodolfo and the two children his. However, there is no indication in obituaries of Caruso that he has any grandchildren. See, for example, NYT of August 2, 1921 query.nytimes.com/gst/abstract.html?res=9801E7DA173EEE3AB... Nor do any grandchildren get mentioned in the discussions of how his estate was to be divided. Rodolfo served in the Italian army in WWI and seems to have been based in Italy. I think the photo looks more like Enrico, Jr. (Mimmi) who was in the U.S. in the summer of 1920 prior to attending Culver Military Academy. See Enrico Caruso - His Life and Death. By Dorothy Caruso books.google.com/books?id=L9N8CgAAQBAJ&pg=PT162&l... My best guess for the other woman and two blond children Is that she is Katherine Ward Benjamin (nee Doremus). Her husband was Park Benjamin, Jr., Dorothy's brother. NYT of June 27, 1923 query.nytimes.com/gst/abstract.html?res=940CE4DA1339E433A... reports that Katherine was filing for divorce and had two children, Betty, 6 and Park Benjamin Jr. 7. I have no confirming photographic evidence, but do know that Mrs. Park Benjamin was at the house the Carusos had rented for the summer in June 1920, when there was a burglary. See Keowee Courier., June 16, 1920, page 3, chroniclingamerica.loc.gov/lccn/sn84026912/1920-06-16/ed-... describing a re-enactment of the evening when the burglary was discovered.

Sadly, these photos were taken soon before Caruso's precipitous decline in health.

Thank you, swanq, for the citations. We can include a list of the family members likely depicted in the catalog record.
