Our company (Demex) were the subcontractors responsible for the haulage and disposal of the spoil generated by the tunnel excavations. We were also the demolition contractors for the old Post Office workshops which stood on the exact spot of the tunnel pictured above. You can just see part of the demolition work about halfway up the right-hand side of the photo
