This is the second courthouse which was built in 1887. The date MDCCCLXXXVII is above the doorway and clearly visible in the other photos. The wrought iron fence and gates have not been built yet.

The man on the left here is my father Arthur Charles Bernard Smith who was DLE (District Locomotive Engineer) at Dubbo NSW in 1954. (He had previously been DLE at Nyngan in 1952) I was a schoolchild in Dubbo at this time and remember seeing the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh as they drove around the oval in the football grounds. I later told my father that the Queen had "a pretty pink and white face". Kathleen McGregor (nee Smith)
