Proof of what a shallow, empty, soul-bereft culture the U.S.A had back then and has continued to drive into the ground ever since. Giant bananas offer no insight into the human condition. Let's all eat some ice-cream and that will make things better (not). This sucks, and the people in the photo suck.

Sounds like somebody didn't get enough sprinkles on his sundae. Betty Ann's Dairy Freeze at 225 Main St, in Bourne claims that they built their shop in 1955 but . . . sure looks like the same building to me.

James Arboghast James Arboghast, the proverbial old man yelling at a cloud. Some of us have fond memories of going for ice cream on hot summer evenings, but hey, I guess we all suck.

Andy McMillan Old man? I'm 55, which is not old. No, I wasn't yelling. That's only your rhetorical misinterpretation and nothing else. You can't take it Apparently you don't get it---criticism is the best available tool for improving our species, which as species go is deeply flawed. If you cannot see how the contents of this photo suck, then you've made my day. I am pure evil in a dark suit I came into this world with my legs forward And a woman cried, "He was born with teeth." And this thing you humans call love Which is pride I detected it in homo sapiens like you But not in me I am myself, alone and complete

Oh, we have much more recent material than 1968!
