Mabel Choate (d. 1958)--daughter of Joseph Hodges Choate (1832-1917) and the former Caroline D. Sterling (1837-1929); her father was an attorney who served as US ambassador to England; her mother was one of the founders of Barnard College. Mabel Choate was active in the Republican Party, a supporter of the League of Nations, and trustee of Barnard College.
