This is a photo of the captured German submarine SM UB-26. As per Wikipedia: UB-26 was trapped in anti-submarine nets trailed by the French destroyer Trombe and was scuttled in Le Havre harbor on 5 April 1916. She was raised by the French on 30 August 1917 and served as Roland Morillot until 21 January 1925. She was used in tests before finally being broken up in Cherbourg in 1935. Presumably en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SM_U-111 NYT of April 23, 1919 query.nytimes.com/gst/abstract.html?res=9502E3D71238EE32A... "One of the most interesting of the many features which will boom the Victory Loan will be the exhibition of surrendered German submarines, one of which, the U-111, arrived at the Brooklyn Navy Yard under American command on Saturday.
