Studebaker was an American wagon and automobile manufacturer based in South Bend, Indiana, with a building at 1600 Broadway, Times Square, Midtown Manhattan, New York City.[1][2][3][4] Founded in 1852 and incorporated in 1868[5] as the Studebaker Brothers Manufacturing Company, the firm was originally a coachbuilder, manufacturing wagons, buggies, carriages and harnesses. Studebaker entered the automotive business in 1902 with electric vehicles and in 1904 with gasoline vehicles, all sold under the name "Studebaker Automobile Company". Until 1911, its automotive division operated in partnership with the Garford Company of Elyria, Ohio, and after 1909 with the E-M-F Company and with the Flanders Automobile Company. The Dodge Series 116 was a middle-class automobile made by Dodge from 1923 to 1925 as their main model. Released in June 1922, it was the first car ever to have an all-steel body.[2] The model was updated in 1924 with a higher hood line, a rear brake light, and new springs.[2] It came equipped with a three-speed standard manual transmission and an advertised 35 horsepower Flathead four-cylinder engine giving the car a top speed of around 45/50 miles an hour. depending on the body style, Luxury optional equipment included door locks, transmission locks, exhaust heaters, disk wheels, or wood spoke wheels with demountable rims and roll-down windows.
