    Farmer cooperatives existed in 1940, with some sort of guidance/assistance from the Farm Security Admnistration (FSA)? Interesting - I don't think the FSA exists anymore; I wonder what became of it.

    - shortiekyre, I believe that the titles for these pictures are either the original documentation made by the photographer or the curators at the Library of Congress when cataloging these pictures.
