A powerful looking photo of an almost worthless tank that was obsolete before it was ever built. It's saving grace was that these M-3's could be thrown together quickly to save the British in North Africa from being overrun by German tin cans. The M-3's did provide some useful training for our tank crews until the M-4 Shermans came along, and the chassis was adapted as a platform for the 105mm SP howitzer.

This is the Sturtevant Model S-2, designed by Grover Loening. This aircraft is one of two S-2s delivered to the Signal Corps at San Diego in 1916. See: www.massaerohistory.org/Sturtevant.html www.sturtevantfan.com/Aviation.html
